Lesson 1
The Continuation Bet
You raised preflop. Now what? Learn the most common move in poker.
A Continuation Bet (C-Bet) is when you raise Preflop, and then bet again on the Flop.
Why do this? Because you showed strength first. Even if you missed the flop, your opponent likely missed too. Because you have the "initiative", they will often believe you have a strong hand and fold.
The Basic Rule:
- Did you raise preflop? Yes.
- is it just you and one opponent? Yes.
- Then bet 1/3 of the pot on the flop. (Do this often, but not always).
Key Takeaways
- • 'C-Betting' prints money against timid players.
- • You don't need a hand to C-Bet; you represent strength.
- • Small sizing (33% pot) is usually enough to get folds.
⚠️ Common Mistakes
- • C-Betting into 3 or 4 opponents (too likely someone hit).
- • C-Betting when the board hits the opponent perfectly.

The Flop Comes

You missed completely (Ace High). But this is a "Dry Board". Your opponent likely missed too. You bet 33% of the pot. They fold. You win.
